We collect data you provide directly (name, email address, date of birth, gender, sexual orientation, personality test answers, profile photos, and identity documents for verification) as well as data generated automatically during use (IP address, device type, usage logs, and message content).

We process your data to provide matchmaking services (contract performance, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), to verify your identity (legal obligation and legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(c) and (f)), to send service emails (legitimate interest), and: only with your explicit consent: for marketing communications (Art. 6(1)(a)). Sensitive data such as sexual orientation is processed only with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)).

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, data is erased within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g. payment records, 7 years under Dutch tax law). Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

We do not sell your data. We share data only with processors acting on our behalf (hosting, payment processor Mollie B.V., email delivery) under a data processing agreement, and with authorities when legally required.

Your data is stored on servers within the European Economic Area. If a processor is located outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (Standard Contractual Clauses).

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your data, as well as the right to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@soulsync.singles. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

We use strictly necessary session cookies only. No advertising or tracking cookies are placed without your consent.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures including encrypted storage, HTTPS, and access controls. Messages between users are end-to-end encrypted.

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
